Sylva Yepremian, the designer, whose brand Sylva & Cie is based in Los Angeles, presented new pendants at the Couture show 2015 in New York. All the carved pieces include 18-karat gold with diamonds and other various gemstones.
The new fancy U-shaped pendant by Sylva & Cie is also made of 18-carat yellow gold with old European-cut diamonds. Its price is $15,500.
A U-shaped pendant necklace
According to Sylva Yepremian, the idea of creating these U-shaped pendants was taken from the tribe Navajo and their traditional necklaces. She says that her aim was to create a modern version of traditional Navajo necklaces. She wanted to get a vintage-inspired version but for an attractive, sought-after and self-confident woman.
The designer also says about the carved pieces that usually the shape of the rough dictates the piece, but not the material. "Some projects take up to a year from start to finish, some are like paintings that are never done,” she says.
Yepremian presents her collections only four times a year. She always tries to display her closeness to the nature and environment through molten metals and colorful jewels.
